Unknown Facts of Marketing

Last week has been a very important day in my life to evolve myself as a successful marketer / digital marketer or a personal brand in the future. I got introduced to some of the amazing concepts about the marketing and why marketing is important for the business?

I learned all these methods from DigitalDeepak who himself as a very big name in the field of  Digital Marketing. I personally believe that these are the important factors for you if you see yourself as a successful marketer / digital marketer or a personal brand in the future.

So in this article, I'm going to talk about how you can become a successful marketer or how you can evolve as a personal brand in the future? Why marketing is important for business? How can you increase your business through the right marketing? What are the problems that business owner face in terms of marketing? 

Lets start with the very first step:-

Why Marketing is Important for Business ??

Let's start this by asking a few questions:-

Do you know what exactly your customer wants?

Do you think your customer trust you or your products?

Do you know whether the customer is happy with your products / services or not?

If yes, how did you know about it? Did he tweet about your products/ services? Was it a compliment or a complaint?

So if you have a doubt related to any of the above questions then this article is for you and the answer to all these questions lies in marketing and I'm going to start with the Fundamentals of Marketing that will help you in understanding the marketing better.

Marketing is based on science not on creativity:- Why am I saying that because you know when we are talking about science we are talking about all the practical ways in making that better. For e.g. If you are creating a video advertisement for your newest product and you have given the work to two people, one is a science- minded marketer and the other one is creative marketer. 

So when a science-minded marketer creates an ad, he might creates it that lays out all the necessary details i.e. what the product does, why the customer needs it, how it will going to make their lives easy and how can they buy it.

And on the other hand, a creative marketer might structure the advertisement as an engaging story that illustrates a rewarding customer experience.

Marketing starts with the customer's understanding and needs :- It's a human psychology that we only need those things that can help us in making our lives better. For e.g. JIO 4G. There are other examples as well, the reason why I have taken the example of JIO 4G because it covers all the facts of the Fundamentals of Marketing. As you all know how Jio changed our lives. Before Jio there are other telecom companies providing 3G services to us at a very higher price. Some of the companies charges more than Rs 200 for 1GB 3G data only and we have to pay extra  for calling and messages. So Mukesh Ambani, the owner of JIO saw this as an opportunity. He knows exactly what customer needs that's why he launches JIO 4G.

Marketing is about entering a competitive market but have a unique angle:- So once you know about the customer's understanding and their needs then the next step you have to follow is how you can enter a competitive market and what you have to do is you have to find a unique angle. This is what Mukesh Ambani did after launching Jio. He provides free sim and also provides free internet data and calling and when people started using it, they started noticing is that internet speed is very good in comparison to other companies and calling and messages are also free and word of mouth played a major role in success of Jio. It is a game of perception. It is about sending the right message to the right person at the right time


Sales is one of the components of Marketing:- It is not just about selling. It is also about keeping an existing customer happy by communicating with them so that they can remain a customer for life. When Jio became successful and gains their customer's trust, they started to took charges for the same and people paid as well because they started trusted Jio. 


Now you understand why marketing is important for business and how you can build a strong brand with the help of marketing?

1- You don't have to be the No.1. Be the Only One.
2- Choose a category and become a leader in that category. Deciding where to compete is half you success ( for e.g JIO ).

Importance of Communication Skills:-  Good marketing is about good communication. It is not about sophisticated English. It is about how you can able to transfer your thoughts to anyone effectively means in a simple way. Through communication, marketing helps your business become a market leader. There is a saying as well Think, Before you Speak.


How you can improve your communication skills?

1-  Start with writing. The more you write the better you can speak. Write minimum 500 words daily. 
2-  Watch English movies, web series comedy shows.
3- Think in English

Personal Branding


Personal Branding is how you promote yourself. It is the unique combination of skills, experience and personality that you want the world to see you. It gives you the opportunity to ensure that people see you in the way you want them to. It gives you the opportunity to highlight your strength and passion.

Why Personal Branding is important?


It is important because it helps you to stand out from everybody else. You need to create a strong brand if you want to be considered influential. A personal brand becomes an influencer and a brand ambassador for the companies that they runIt's a human psychology that they want to hear from people whom they trust not from brand. 
The best known will always beat the best. For e.g  Steve Jobs used personal branding well before the phrase was even well known to distinguish himself as the face of the people. In the same way Elon Musk personal brand is probably better than Tesla and SpaceX.


Now you understand that what is personal branding and why personal branding is important. So the next question will come into your mind is how you can evolve as a personal brand and what are the methods you need to follow.

Evolution of a Personal Brand

1) Learn:- The first step you need to take care of is to learn a new skill through different types of facts, concepts and procedures.You have to understand the concept behind learning the new skill, remember the facts and practice the procedures.
 
2) Work:- Then you have to put the new learned skill to work means you have to practice that skill or implement in your day to day life.
As there is a saying Practice makes a Man Perfect

3) Blog:- Blogging means you have to share your thoughts that you have learned in founding a new skills and experienced that you gain through your work. If you practice all the above steps, whether you notice or not it will automatically start building your personal brand. 

4) Consult:- Once you shared your experience through blog and now you have a personal brand then you can start consulting other people about your experience.

5) Mentor:- Now you have to mentor other people who wants to become like you.You have to take care of every single thing because now you are not consulting 1 to 1, you are mentoring 1 to 100s of people. It will help you in scaling your understanding to the whole new level.

6) Startup:- Once you practice all the above steps then you to have to put the final nail in the coffin i.e. you have to start your own product or service. You have to implement all the learning here, the skills that you have developed, the experience that you gain, the problems you faced and your understanding about the market.

where n = niche, C= Content, A= Attention, T= Trust, T= Transaction

Most of you are not aware about it but this is the formula to create wealth.

Niche(n):- Niche selection is very important in building your wealth and success. It is like a foundation in building a house. 
Niche Selection:- You need 3 important points in choosing the right niche i.e. Talent, Market & Passion
You need a combination of all these three.You have to passionate about it, you need the talent as well and there should be market for it as well.
 



Content(C):- You have to create some useful content that can attract audience from your niche. You can post some blogs, videos etc. about the topic that you are very well aware of.

Attention(N):- Now you have to drive attention means bring traffic to your content by using SEO, Social Media, Paid ads etc.

Trust(T):- Once you are able to bring traffic to your content then your next step should be to build trust to your audience. If people are not trusting you then they will not going to buy anything from you. You can build your trust by with trip wires, marketing automation, re-targeting and deep marketing.

Transaction(T):- The final step is transaction. You have to convert your leads into customers with the normal sales method. 

This is the secret to create wealth.

Digital Marketing vs Traditional Marketing


The main difference between digital marketing and traditional marketing is the medium through which an audience encounters a marketing message.

Digital Marketing:- As the name sounds, digital marketing means sending a message through the digital platform like social media channels,websites and internet played a major role in this. As you know every coin has two faces so here are some pros and cons of it.


Pros:- 

1- As we are living in the digital age, everyone is well aware about the digital platforms so we can focus on our target audience and gather the details of our audience response to our ads by using different types of tools.

2- It is cost effective and can reach the audience in no time. For e.g. whenever any new product is launched, it started to show the ads on the social media channels. 


Cons:-

1- As everyone is on the digital platform, there are some fraud people as well who runs fake ads to take money from people.

2- People who aged more that 50 yrs are not very much active on social media so it is quite difficult to target that audience.

Traditional Marketing:- Traditional marketing uses traditional medium like magazines, newspapers.  television, radio for sending their messages. There is no use of internet. If the product is genuine with a very wide targeting then tv ads can reach million at a low cost. It has some pros and cons as well just like digital marketing.


Pros:- 

1- It helps in targeting local audience. You can use billboards, hoardings, pamphlets to send the message to the local audience.

2- It helps in sending your message to your target audience aged more than 50 yrs. This age group of people spends most of their time in reading newspaper and watching tv.

Cons:-

1- You can't tell whether your audience has read your newspaper ads or seen tv ads. You can't use any kind of tools to gather the information.

2- It is costly and time taken. For e.g. If you want to send a message to the audience (100 people) then you have to print 100 pamphlets and it will take your time as well.


Now when you understand the differentiate between both of them and you are thinking that which one is better? So let me tell you both are good in their perspective ways.

Integrated Digital Marketing

As the name sounds, it is the integration of multiple marketing strategies that will help to form a cohesive online approach for your business.





As you can see, it includes all the other digital marketing strategies like paid advertising, content marketing, email marketing, SEO etc. The idea behind integrated digital marketing strategies is that sometimes each individual strategy doesn't have a huge impact of its own but when you combined all the strategies together you can create a more influential online presence for your business.
